One of our high school teachers was shot and killed in early October in the college yard of the university he attended. He was studying law. A woman operating a business near the church was attacked by thieves and cowardly shot in the middle of the afternoon. A young man from our neighborhood who is a policeman was assaulted by two thieves on a motorcycle one block from our church. At the time, he was not on duty and he did not wear his uniform. They asked him for his phone. When he slipped his hand into his pocket to pick it up, they saw his gun. They shot him in the stomach and in the shoulder. He had two surgeries. Thank God no major organs have been touched and he is recovering quite well.
One of the voodoo temples is located almost in front of our house. From Saturday night to Sunday morning, they play trumpet and drum and sing loudly. On those nights, you have to sleep with earplugs. One night, during one of their ceremonies, Michel prayed as he often does. The distance between our house is too big for them to hear us. But one of them said aloud, »Pastor Michel, stop praying. » Prayer makes them lose their power. Recently, during one of their ceremonies, Michel got up to pray. He opened the room ceiling’s light. Immediately, they stopped playing the trumpet and the drum and left. The light disperses the darkness. We love them and we want to see them saved.
We are looking for prayer warriors. If you are interested, please send us a message and we will share prayer requests. We need an army of intercessors. Victory comes in prayer. There are a lot of parents who are in witchcraft. As a result, their children have serious spiritual problems. If you are interested, you can write to us at: mlcharb@haitiministries.com We are in touch with the Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in Haiti who is also president of the Federation of the Protestant Churches of Haiti. We asked him if he had a prayer request. He would appreciate that you pray for God’s wisdom in his decisions.
We started to feed the kids at school. Meanwhile, the three cooks who used to work for our Feeding Program decided that they wanted to retire. 😊 We now have to find new cooks. Please pray that we find the right persons. For now, we serve croissants, crackers and sometimes pastries.
21 students graduated from Grade 13. The ceremony was simple. We did not have a banquet because of the covid-19. We have resumed church meetings on August 17. In trying to respect the rules of distancing, we have more than 400 people at the first service. The second service should start again soon.
Please pray that the murderers, kidnappers and thieves convert to God so that we may live in peace.
Thank you so much for your support.
