For Christmas I would like my country healed

Port-au-Prince is said to be one of the 16 most dangerous cities in the world, according to an article in msn.com.

The United Nations Security Council voted to send a multinational force led by Kenya to Haiti to help combat violent gangs in the troubled Caribbean country. The US-drafted resolution was approved by 13 votes in favor, with two abstentions from China and the Russian Federation.

Last Sunday, during the day and at night, we heard many gunshots from our house.  Monday morning, our accountant arrived at school shaken. On Sunday, a gang attacked their neighborhood called Solino.  Several families, including hers, had to flee with only the clothes on their backs. But she was able to take her laptop with her. She received a video showing that the bandits had burned down the house adjacent to theirs. She doesn’t know if their house was burned down too. In the photo, it’s the wine-red house with white outlines.

Since the gangs took over, our life has been pretty much restricted to this: home, church, school and groceries. Social life is almost non-existent.

Since September, Pasteur Joses has been one of the directors of  The Fortress. Three mornings a week, students divided into two groups attend chapel.  Pastor Joses has three degrees: one in education, one in psychology and one in theology.  He takes good care of the students.

The Fortress Church celebrated its 26th anniversary at the end of October.

This year, grade 13 students have a great attitude. Among other things, they are helping students cross the busy streets surrounding The Fortress school.

As a Christmas gift, we encourage you, individually or as a group, to sponsor a child.  We have several waiting for you. Thank you to all those who continue to support us through prayer and donations. We are indebted to you for all you do for us and for the children and young people of Haiti.

We wish you a blessed holiday season with family and friends.

May God pour His blessings on you in 2024 and deliver Israel from its enemies.
