Gangs are still wreaking havoc in the country. Spiritual warfare has metamorphosed into physical warfare.  It is said that they control 60% of Port-au-Prince, the capital.  For those of you who like to pray, we ask you to pray that these areas taken partially or totally, will fall back into the hands of the population and the forces of order: Canaan, Cité Soleil, Croix-des-Bouquets, Delmas 2, Jerusalem, Onaville, Pernier, Source Matelas, Tabarre, Village de Dieu… Please pray that the gangs will convert or fall.  “As of mid-March, gangs were blamed for killing at least 531 people and kidnapping 277 others in the capital of Port-au-Prince and nearby areas. Another 160,000 people in the country of more than 11 million people have been displaced by violence, according to the U.N.’’ Associated Press Sun, April 9, 2023

Daniel 10, 12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.  13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.

“Your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.” Our words can bring the victory.

Nutrition Program: We feed 510 students and staff on Tuesday and 400 on Wednesday.  Why this number? Because we are limited by the length of recess.

Teams: Due to covid, we received our last team in February 2020. To complete the guest apartment in the church guest house, we are looking for an electrician, plumber, and carpenter to come in for a week or more. They would live safely in the rooms of the new guest house and be served three meals a day on site.

We are going through a shortage of diesel and gasoline.  The gas stations no longer deliver and only the fuel sold on the street remains, which is sometimes mixed with water. We use a rechargeable speaker for our meetings. Who knows if we will ever go back to using donkeys as mounts.

The following was written by Zach and his family who operate a hospital in the mountains: ”We are unable to get medika mamba (medical peanut butter for malnourished children) because they cannot get it to Port-au-Prince, so we had family of staff in Cap Haitian (northern Haiti) get it at factory and haul it to Mirebalais (city on the Central Plateau).  Then another staff family helped us get if from Mirebalais to La Chapel and then today they started bringing it over the mountains on mules. 16 cases today. 94 to go…This place is wild.”

Sunday School: Over 700 children and teenagers participate in our Sunday School. The 12 to 16 year olds account for over 140 and most of them are not part of our sponsorship program which means we are reaching the unreached.  Thank God! The Sunday School staff totals 80 people.

To secure the kindergarten building, we want to finish the construction. A classroom, dining room, recreation room and washroom must be added.

Here is the building housing the 12 classrooms and the offices finally painted.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support.  They are more important than ever.
